King's College London Symphony Orchestra is one of the UK's finest university ensembles and has a strong reputation both within King’s and on the wider stage. The orchestra gives around eight concerts each season, including a major choral work in a prestigious London venue.
The orchestra’s repertoire is varied and challenging, and music in recent seasons has included Verdi’s Requiem at Cadogan Hall, Mahler’s Das klagende Lied, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (complete ballet), Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, music from Wagner’s Parsifal and Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
The upcoming 2011-12 season promises a range of exciting repertoire including Beethoven Symphonies No. 6 and No. 9, Tchaikovsky 'Sleeping Beauty', and Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
