We are delighted to have Gareth Chong as our concertmaster for the 2024/25 season.

Gareth is a third-year Music student at King’s College London, currently studying the violin with Laura Rickard at the Royal Academy of Music. He has been a member of KCLSO since 2022 and was the associate principal of the second violins on our tour to France last summer. He is very grateful to have spent two wonderful years with the members of KCLSO and is humbled to lead the orchestra this term. Outside of KCLSO, Gareth has played in the pit for the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas Musical Theatre’s (GKTMT) The Little Mermaid, composed for the KCL Singapore Society’s annual productions, produced background music for a Murder Mystery Role Playing Game series and most recently, performed with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra at the Cadogan Hall.
